WE WILL NEVER FORGET
Christopher J. Williammee
END OF WATCH DECEMBER 12, 2021
Chris graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1990 and enlisted in the US Coast Guard in September. In 1993 he was appointed to the Coast Guard Academy, and in July of 1999 graduated from Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Ensign. He earned numerous awards and accommodations during his 28 years of service. On October 1, 2018 Chris retired as a Commander.
Chris's life was focused on service, his career of service to his country and community. After retirement he served with local food pantries, was a certified EMT with the Lawrenceville Ambulance, and was deeply committed to the Laurel Mountain Search and Rescue, serving as a training coordinator.
Chris was instrumental in many areas of the team and we shall all miss him deeply. The team has lost not just a member, but a best friend. In the words of one volunteer, "Chris was truly a Jack of all trades who would have given his own shirt off his back but then also taught you how to make your own next shirt. May his infectious smile live on in the memories of us all and may we honor him in the continued work that he loved so much".
Chris was a favorite of every K9 on the team as they knew not only did he provide great scratches, he also came with the tastiest of treats!
The team will work hard to make you proud Chris, we know you will be with us every step of the way, at every training and at every search that we deploy to.
Rest easy Brother, the team will take it from here.
